A Better World, One Story at a Time - Part 2

I've had several thoughtful conversations recently with creators about the importance of immersive storytelling, and how powerful it can be. We have a responsibility as designers and storytellers to think about how we want people to feel when they experience a story or storyworld / experience, to design stories and experiences that inspire, create joy, wonder, awe, love and inspire a better world. Scientists have shown that we're actually changing pathways in the brain in immersive formats.

This Eye Q Productions blog popped up from several years ago and I thought I would re-share it. Since this was written, Lilly's Light the Movie was released and we're developing the series as well as immersive musical w/ Sherry Hursey, Pasion will soon move from a beautiful full dome theater workshop to a full show w/ Maria Torres and I'm currently deep in development of a multi-format immersive climate storytelling and social impact project, Metamorphosis, with creative partner and environmental filmmaker, Carey Lundin.

Expect to hear more on Metamorphosis soon! You can also find it under projects in development here at: https://eyeqproductions.com/metamorphosis

A Commitment to Cultural Storytelling

Beginning from the earliest oral traditions, knowledge, art, and ideas have been passed from one generation to the next. As the world developed and became more connected, so did the ways we share our unique stories and cultural traditions.

We strongly believe in the importance of cultural storytelling and the power of the arts and entertainment to build bridges between cultures and foster community. Eye Q employs new and emerging technologies and formats with immersive visual design to find new, innovative ways to promote diversity and continue the cultural storytelling tradition.

Eye Q is collaborating with celebrated Latina Director / Choreographer Maria Torres, to bring to life Pasión, an innovative celebration of Latin culture told through music, show stopping dance, and 360 projection design.

Exploring not only the original roots of Spanish, African, and Caribbean dance,
Pasión blends a new visual language that immerses the audience in the evolution, progress, and passion of Latin culture.

Moving into the new year, Eye Q seeks to celebrate the diversity of families of all shapes and sizes in Lilly's Light, where an enchanted lighthouse serves as a beacon for foster children searching for a place to call home.

Starring
Sherry Hursey
as Lilly, a loving foster mom, Lilly’s Light chronicles the adventures of a special family through original music, live talent, and CG animation and special effects designed by Eye Q. Through laughter, music, and love we learn that life is full of possibilities, and home is not always where you come from, it's where you belong.
Let's all continue to watch, listen, and work together to embrace and celebrate the voices of all cultures. And keep your eyes peeled for news to come from Eye Q Productions, for new projects, and innovative cultural storytelling.
